A "Thank You" from our Children's Pastor
Hey Pleasant City family! Our Church is certainly kicking off 2018 with a bang. It's going to be a busy year with lots of new visions and mountains to conquer. As most of you know by now, I have submitted my letter to the Church leadership requesting that I be allowed to step down as Children's Pastor with an effective date of July 1, 2018. Please know this was not an easy decision for Kathy and I. We have been actively involved with the children's ministry for about 13 years. Ten of those years were in a full-time pastoral position. However, age and the physical challenges of working with the kids has taken its toll on my body. I know it is time for the person God has already called to take the reins with a new vision and energy to reach the children in the community and tell them about Jesus Christ.
I have always said that I have the best job in the church. Where else can you get so many sincere hugs every day of the week and especially on Sunday! Where else can you go where you build relationships with the prek / elementary kids and have the pleasure of watching them grow into teens who remember you were there pointing them to Jesus. It doesn't take long in children's ministry to realize each and every one of your children are a blessing from God. They are specially and wonderfully made by our Creator. Parents, thank you for sharing your kids with us. To have shared just a few moments in their lives has been such a blessing.
Most of all, we want to thank the church family, leadership and Bryan for the opportunity to serve here at Pleasant City. Thank you for having the faith and confidence in us to answer God's call. Thank you for the wonderful support in developing facilities that would greatly enhance our vision for reaching and teaching the families in our community. And last but not least, we want to thank the staff for tolerating someone that doesn't quite fit the mold of a Pastor. Thank you for welcoming us as part of the team.
As we enter this new season in our life, we are excited about what God might have in store for us. Kathy and I do plan on being very active here at Pleasant City Church. This has been our home church for over 35 years and He's not through with us yet. Thank you for the love we have always felt here in the Putnam / Pleasant City family.
