April 8, 2018 Pastor: Bryan Glisson

Scripture: Exodus 15:22–27

Introduction: Everyone experiences disappointment from things, events, and most often people. How you have handled disappointment in the past has made you what you are today.  How you handle disappointment in the future will determine what you will become tomorrow.

Disappointing Truths:

Great Successes in Life are Often Followed by Failure  (Exodus 15:22-23)

Great Service in Life is Often Followed by Forgetfulness  (Exodus 15:24)

Disappointment Dos & Don’ts:

  • Don't Curse It (Romans 12:14)
  • Don't Rehearse It (Job 5:2) (Ephesians 4:31)
  • Don't Nurse It (Ephesians 4:26-27)
  • Do Disperse It--To God (Exodus 15:25)
  • Do Let God Reverse It (Genesis 50:20)

Great Shortages in Life are Often Followed by Fullness  (Exodus 15:27)

Prayer for the Disappointed:  "Jesus, help me to not give up; help me to not get stuck in the bitter experience, but to push ahead, realizing that You can turn my disappointments into divine appointments.”

Application: Are you dealing properly with disappointment in your life? What are some actions you can do to get beyond your disappointments?

What are some perspectives you need to change to get beyond your disappointments?
