Introduction: God uses the Minor Prophets to convey Major Messages to His people- not just Then, but even Now.

Jonah’s Rebellion – Chapter 1

• A Wrong Attitude Toward the Will of God
• A Wrong Attitude Toward the Word of God
    “Love One Another” – I John 4:7-8
    “Accept One Another” – Romans 15:7
    “Carry One Another’s Burdens” – Galatians 6:2
    “Forgive One Another” – Ephesians 4:32
• A Dilemma

Jonah’s Miraculous Deliverance – Chapter 2

• Repentance – vs 1-9
  Jonah prays for God’s Help:
    - Thanksgiving – vs 2-6
    - Brokenness – vs 7-8
    - Rededication – vs 9-10

Jonah Fulfills His Mission – Chapter 3

• God Shows Mercy to His Servant
• Jonah Calls Them To Repentance
  (Hebrews 4:12, II Peter 3:9, I Timothy 2:4, Acts 3:19)

The Major Message: God longs to give us a new heart.  His mercies are new every morning and the thought of starting over should encourage us.  A time to refresh ourselves, change directions, and start anew.  Let’s take the time to honestly admit our present condition, face the music, stand alone inside the fish and come to terms with the things in our lives that need attention. (Psalm 40:1-4a)

A church-wide (kids, students, & adults) week of loving & serving our community. We are staying right in Shelby and working in our own backyard. This gives us an opportunity to love  the people that God has put in our neighborhood.
